My guilty pleasure? Watching Silicon Valley via Apple TV HBO app every Sunday. This show is about 6 guys who created a startup tech company while living in an tech incubator home in Silicon Valley. They have what we as viewers would believe to be a great idea and the “next big thing” to come out of Silicon Valley, but they go through many trials and tribulations of piracy, engineer burnout, legal issues, investment problems and much more. The show also displays the sexist culture and lack of diversity that exists in Silicon Valley — all while being quite hilarious (and crude at times).
Check out some of these articles which talk about how lessons from this fictional show can help you create a better start up company or be a better engineer.
